Day 42

Day 40/41/42
.
Catch up
.
The last couple of days had revolved around relentlessly building on that power returning in my left leg. When you find an opening, no matter how small, just attack it until the trickle turns into a torrent. This approach had brought me so much success with my right side that we weren’t about to change it.
.
My blood pressure was finally starting to behave itself and now the second major benefit of the tilt table was becoming apparent. The nervous system is most active when upright and with seven thousand nerve endings in each foot it makes sense. Working on the tilt table was allowing me to put pressure through my feet and fire tone into both legs. The left leg was still feeling very strange, nothing was firing below the knee and I was receiving little feedback however the power was improving. First double leg bends, but it wasn’t long before Pete and Wyn had isolated that left leg and had it working on its own.
.
Things had started moving along quickly and we kept pushing, kept ticking things off and driving on. Because of my progress on the tilt table, yesterday Pete decided to stand me using this big bit of kit. Pulling you up through your back and elbows, it does most of the standing work for you, the challenge is getting your balance at the top. Ten attempts and a few spasms later I was up. My left leg still felt like a prosthetic and I was wobbling around like I had had one two many pints but my god it felt good to be back on my feet!
.
I know, bloody ridiculous right. Four days ago a flicker in my left leg and now I’m basically stood up. It’s because of these quick changes that I wanted to catch up to the present day, things are happening and I think it’s important that I can share them with you as they do. ✌️
.
P.s. Made it back in time from physio to watch the Wasps vs Leicester semi, what a game! Heard the Exeter vs Sarries game was a belter as well. Congratulations to all involved but obviously to 🐝. Hell of a final in store next week….. Also thanks to everyone who donated today at the game, it means a lot 😘👍🏼
