Home sweet home
What a weekend to be out on bail. I have gone back to my dads place in Bath where I will be moving to finish my rehab after I leave hospital. Luckily having lived in old houses their whole life, the old man and my step mum decided to build a new place which turns out to be surprisingly accessible. The community OT came and gave the all clear this week and after putting a couple of little ramps in place I was in. On the ground floor there’s my dads study, an accessible toilet and a gym that my step mum runs her PT business from. The plan was to convert my dads study into a bedroom but I took one look at the stairs and thought ‘challenge accepted’. It wasn’t pretty and Kim would have probably had a baby if she saw it but I’m upstairs now and able to sleep in my own bed👌. The rest of the weekend was spent exploring different parts of the house I could turn into rehab stations which proved surprisingly successful. Someone even kindly designed the house with parallel bars 🤸🏻♂️🏋🏻.
On Saturday afternoon Pete cruised in on his 1957 vesper, imparted some awesomeness, had a look at the gym and was gone. It was great to have a catch up with the Sicilian crazy frog and looking forward to getting stuck back in when I’m home. 🇮🇹🐸
I had been dreaming of a few things to do when I got out of hospital and having dinner sat outside my favourite pub @wheatsheafbath with the fam was at the top, and it didn’t disappoint. If someone had told me in week one that I would be back in ten weeks I wouldn’t have believed them but here I am….
Time has flown, and I finally feel that I’m closing in on the next chapter. Now the only question is, do I go back to hospital tonight…..?👀✌️
P.s. I was considering starting a timed stair effort but health and safety concerns have been raised which is fair.
