Day 102

Limbering up

I always used to try and stay on top of my mobility, I was no contortionist but I was supple enough. Three months confined to a bed and chair soon saw to that, I am now about as malleable as your average popadom. This is an issue I am trying hard to overcome but is proving a little more challenging due to certain balance and movement constraints. I’m working with Kara (experienced yogi) to find ways to work into the areas that need attention with some success. As well as helping my flexibility the yoga work is also improving my balance, core, proprioception and has quickly become an integral part of my week. Oh ye and it improves my mindfulness or chi or something 🙃✌️

You may have noticed yesterday that as well as electroacupuncture I have been doing some dry needling and soft tissue work with Ceri (Rugby Physio). I am now getting through a lot of work on my feet so certain muscles are naturally starting to tighten up and carry more tone. As the power is returning sporadically some muscles are working a lot harder to accommodate for the lazier ones. This is resulting in isolated bands of tight muscle rather than general tone which is effecting my alignment and tickling a few more spasms into action. Luckily Ceri is good at sniffing out said tight muscles and stabbing them into submission. 🗡

P.s. Pete’s birthday today….. 36 I think 👀….buon compleanno 🇮🇹🐴
