Day 288

On The Move

I don’t believe in fate. I don’t think that things happen for a reason. I don’t think life is fair. I think bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people, that’s just life. There’s no point wasting time wondering why things are happening, just play what’s in front of you.

Having said that, since the accident the cards seem to have fallen in our favour a few times. Do i think its a higher power balancing the books? Nope. Although just on the off chance it is… Cheers, much appreciated 😉🙏…. The fact that my dads a doctor and my step mum runs a gym from the house meant that i had an almost purpose built rehab facility to move back to from hospital. The same week that i started to drive (releasing Lois from her taxi driver position) she was offered a dream job at Bath University. And now, just as we started to consider hunting for our own front door again, the perfect place rears its head.

The newly renovated cottage literally ticks all the boxes:

✅ Open fireMan CaveGreat viewsTree in the toilet

The last one is my personal favourite, it’s that sort of attention to detail that makes all the difference. I just hope no one gets the toilet and the tree the wrong way round otherwise they could be looking at some rather uncomfortable splinters.

IMG_1321 Last weekend signalled the start of the migration of furniture, lots of useless stuff and too many clothes from our house in Cardiff. Its a process we have been through many times before but it never ceases to amaze me the crap that we accumulate over the years. I mean what possesses someone to buy a silver plastic rhino head i’ll never know…. It was a bit disheartening that I couldn’t get involved with the heavy lifting which previously was just about my only use. Luckily however we had half a rugby team on hand to help and in case you didn’t know, theres not much difference between a rugby player and a removal man, apart from a removal man is probably slightly more intelligent and less likely to drop things.

IMG_1286 When the parents found out that they were finally getting rid of us, I’m sure they were celebrating the thought of a fuller fridge, less skid marks (Lois) and some peace and quiet. That is until they realised that we’re only moving 400 metres up the hill so unlucky, the dream lives on 🙃…. On a serious note i have to say how lucky we are to be such good mates with the rentals and its actually been a lot of fun living together over the last 6 months. Apart from the one attempted murder when my step mum released me head first down the 20 degree drive in my wheelchair, we avoided any serious drama, injury or death. Everything considered that isn’t bad going in house with three immature adults, four dogs and a cripple. 💪🏼✌️
wdon training is in full flow and we’re up over £1500!!! Really appreciate everyone who has put their hand in the their pocket during this tight month, it means a lot. If you are yet to donate and would like to, please click link below. 🙌🏽
