This day two years ago my life changed tracks and headed off In a different direction.
Was it a bad day? Well yes, on the face of it of course it was. Breaking your neck so badly that you have to be resuscitated 3 times is hardly going to be anyones ideal Saturday afternoon but it could have been so much worse.
If I said to you that I always knew I would be back walking I would be lying, for a long time it remained uncertain, even doubtful. But it was understanding how much worse it could have been that became the first and biggest step forward. I came to accept my situation, even feel lucky about it and that perspective allowed me to stay positive.
It’s so important to keep life in context. I used to waist so much time stressing about things that were ultimately completely irrelevant, now I have so much more time to focus on what’s important to me.
I can’t believe how much good has come from that supposedly bad day and I have so many people to thank for that. I understand now that I have options, I can make decisions because I know that if you care enough about something you can achieve anything. All you have to do is find something you care enough about.
Believe in yourself and keep looking because happiness is just around the corner. You have no idea what you’re capable of!✌️
